Many companies match gifts by their employees to encourage charitable giving. Find out if you work for a matching company by searching for its name here:

If you do work for such a company, request a matching gift from your employer and send it with your gift. We'll do the rest. The impact of your gift to Northwestern may be doubled or possibly tripled. (Some companies also match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.)

Giving appreciated stocks and bonds is a way to support Northwestern and save on taxes. If they are held by your bank or broker, we recommend an electronic transfer via the Depository Trust Company (DTC) system. To learn more or start a transfer, email giving@nwciowa.edu or call 712-707-7114.

To give your IRA Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) to Northwestern, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) by directing your IRA custodian to send the funds directly to NWC. Be sure to contact our advancement office to ensure proper designation and acknowledgement of your gift.

Northwestern is located in a rural agricultural area, so some of our donors support the college through the crops they grow. If you choose this method of giving, you'll reduce your taxes and can still deduct the cost of production. To receive the most favorable tax results, it's important your grain is designated as belonging to Northwestern before it's weighed or dumped.
