Music at NWC is all about creating boldly and performing with purpose. From sacred hymns to jazz standards, our ensembles bring sound to life in Christ Chapel and on tours across the country and around the world. Northwestern offers 10+ music ensembles—including three choirs, three bands, an orchestra and several chamber groups. Here, music is about more than performance—it's also about community, worship and blessing others with your gifts.
Did you know? NWC has an athletic band—and you can get paid to participate! Consisting of woodwinds, brass, bass and eletric guitars, and a full drumline, the Raider Athletic Band performs at home football, basketball and volleyball games. Learn more

Northwestern College's "theatre with a difference" is an authentic ensemble approach where every role—from actor to sound designer to stage manager—is valued. At NWC, the theatre is a place where creativity meets faith, and every production points back to the Creator.

Worship is more than music—it's about glorifying God and serving others with the gifts he's given you. Around 40 students serve on worship teams and help our community praise God each week, either during twice-weekly chapels or Sunday night's student-led Praise + Worship.
Worship teams also travel—partnering with churches, youth groups and retreats to bring encouragement and music beyond campus. Whether you're a vocalist, instrumentalist or behind-the-scenes support, you'll gain hands-on leadership experience while making an eternal impact.
